Integrated therapy could be the choice for you

What is integrated Therapy.

Psychotherapy has been traditionally seen as the place where you go talk and talk about all your ‘issues’ to see if you are ‘crazy’ but what if its really just to give you insight into how not crazy you are.

Okay back to the point. Integrated Therapy really just means that the therapist is not going to stick to one modality or approach when working with you. They will be pulling from multiple modalities to fit what you need. And here is why its different -

Integrative therapy is all about pulling from a range of modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness and other somatic practices but the idea is not everything works for everyone and not every situation needs every single resource from each modality. There is beauty in the process. For example, when lets say we are working with a client who has a self-esteem issue we might pull from CBT to understand what limiting beliefs are holding them back but also somatically understanding where this experience is in the body might help uncover any historical residue of that belief. In addition, using arts and expression can be extremely beneficial to start defining the meaning of self-esteem and confidence, which may uncover some hidden insight. Of course this is an example to give you a brief overview.

When searching for your next therapist see what modalities they offer and see if they use an integrative approach to ensure that treatment is customized for you.
